An Adventurous Itinerary

Day 1

Fly into the San Jose International Airport where your private transfer is waiting to take you to the Hotel Grano de Oro for your first night in Costa Rica. Settle in and enjoy an exceptional dining experience at their French-style restaurant before heading for bed.

Day 2

Rise and shine early to be whisked away east from San Jose, through the Braulio Carillo National Park for your 3-day Caribbean kayak adventure. Enjoy breakfast at Río Danta in the Atlantic lowlands, before continuing on through banana plantations to the starting point in the Tortuguero National Park Station on the Tortuguero River. Lunch will be served along the way after an hour paddle down the river, in the middle of the Parks' tropical forest. After a long day of adventure, a welcome cocktail and dinner will be awaiting you at the Mawamba lodge, where you will stay the night.

Day 3

After a great breakfast we will be shuttled by boat about 25 miles north toward the Colorado River, passing through the Penitencia Canal to the Samay Lagoon. Board your kayak for a three to four hour exploration of this area.

Day 4

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Tortuguero airstrip for a short, and amazing view-filled carbon neutral flight back to San Jose. Your private driver will be at the Tobias Bolanos airport waiting to escort you to the next segment of your adventure expedition…the majestic Arenal volcano! Upon arrival, head to the Arenal Nayara hotel where you can spend the afternoon basking in the pool and enjoying views of the active volcano.

Day 5

Today you will head off on the Cerro Chato Hike, that will take you to the closest viewing point of the Arenal volcano's active crater. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy local dining or perhaps a soak in some of the local natural hotsprings.

Day 6

We hope you are rested up for today's full day Mountain bike adventure. Sample the course of the famous 2-day Costa Rican annual bike race as you experience this rainforesty volcano area on two wheels! Return to your hotel for dinner, or perhaps a spa treatment to sooth your muscles.

Day 7

Wake up this morning to your last few hours of this incredible and unique view of the volcano as you enjoy the complimentary breakfast. Prepare for check out from your room and await your private transfer to the Arenal airstrip for another exciting carbon neutral flight with Nature Air Upon arrival, another transfer will be waiting to take you to the Jardin del Eden hotel for your first night at the beach!

Day 8 & 9

These days are yours to enjoy however you please…relax those sore muscles from your earlier expeditions or hop on a surf board and catch some waves right outside your hotel! Surfing lessons can be easily arranged. This hotel is in walking distance of numerous shops, bars and restaurants and your room has the best ocean view around. Life is good!

Day 10

Wake up, have breakfast and await your transfer to the Liberia International airport (approx. 1 hour) to connect with your flight back home.
