Classic Costa Rica Itinerary

The Classic Costa Rica Itinerary is perfect for the savvy traveler that seeks the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

Day 1

Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO airport), where a private transfer will pick you up and take you to quaint downtown area of Escazu, where you'll stay at the Hotel Beacon Escazu. Take advantage of your central location to explore local plazas, or take a stroll downtown in search of a filling typical dinner for your first night in Costa Rica.

Day 2

A private shuttle will pick you up in the morning after a hearty breakfast (included) to take you to Tobias Bolaños Airport for your flight the Caribbean coastal town of Tortuguero. You will be picked up at the landing strip via boat for a ride through the wide canal to the Pachira Lodge, where you will be spending the next two nights.

Day 3

Your stay at Pachira Lodge includes a wide array of guided tour options that will take you over land or by boat to visit the Tortuguero National Park. Travel through winding canals where you'll spot caimans, snakes, spiders and a wide variety of tropical birds, or take a hike from the canal to the beach through tropical forests teaming with exotic plants and animals. You will have plenty of time to explore the town of Tortuguero, as well as the hotel property, where all your meals are included.

Day 4

Wake up early today for your morning flight from Tortuguero to La Fortuna, home of the Arenal volcano (via San Jose). A private transfer will take yout from the Arenal Airport to Hotel Nayara, your home for the next two nights, where you'll stay in a Casita Deluxe room with breakfasts included.

Day 5

Get to know the Arenal region as you wish today. Popular tours in the region include Canopy, hot springs, a hike to the volcano and rafting. If you prefer, you can spend a relaxing day at the hotel pool or getting a treatment at the spa.

Day 6

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast toay before your transfer comes to take you to the Arenal Airport for your direct flight to the beachtown of Manuel Antonio. A driver will be waiting to take you the Si Como No Hotel with beautiful views overlooking the Pacific ocean.

Day 7

Spend today as you choose... touring the beachfront Manuel Antonio National Park, signing up for a snorkel or kayak tour, or just lounging by the hotel pool.

Day 8

It is time to say goodbye to the beach today. Your driver will come pick you up to take you to the airport for your flight back to the Tobias Bolaños Airport. Upon arrival, you will return to the Beacon Hotel for one last night in Costa Rica. Enjoy fine dining on the town, and ask about theater or concert tickets to fully enjoy your last night on vacation.

Day 9

It's time to say goodbye. A private transfer will take you from the Beacon Hotel to the International Airport for your flight home today.
