Over the Border Nicaragua Vacation Itinerary

Our Over the Border Package includes 7 days and 6 relaxing nights of exploration in Granada, Nicaragua and Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

Day 1
You will be welcomed at the San Jose International Airport by a representative from the national chamber of tourism and guided through baggage claim and out of the airport to your driver. Enjoy your first night in Central America in Costa Rica's capital city in a beautiful guest room for two at the Real Intercontinental Hotel.

Day 2
Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel, before your driver arrives to take you to the Nature Air terminal at the Tobias Bolaños International Airport (approx 15 minutes). You will board your flight from San José to Managua, Nicaragua. Get a sneak peak of your next destination from the seat of the plane just before landing: the colonial, lakefront town of Granada, Nicaragua. A driver will be waiting to whisk you off to your charming room at Hotel Plaza Colon (approx 45 minutes), which will be your home base for tomorrow's adventures.

Day 3
Wake up early for a complete breakfast before setting out on your Granada City & Isletas full day tour. You'll return to your hotel ready for some relaxation, or a night out on the town, which is perfect for an evening stroll.

Day 4
After breakfast, travel from Granada to Managua (approx 45 minutes) for your flight from Managua to Liberia, Costa Rica with Nature Air. From the airport you will take an air-conditioned transfer to Tamarindo on the Pacific Coast (approx 1 hour). Your first night in this boutique beach town will be spent right in the center of the action and in front of the beach at the Hotel Jardin del Eden.

Day 5
Wake up early after a day in the sun for a delicious tropical breakfast (included), to plan your full day in the sun. Plan a tour to experience one of many adventure activities in the region, or grab your towel and head straight to the beach before spending the afternoon picking between all the international dining and shopping options that Tamarindo has to offer.

Day 6
This morning you will travel from Tamarindo to the Tamarindo Airport (approx 10 minutes) for your flight to San Jose with Nature Air. A private transfer from the Tobias Bolaños International Airport will be waiting to take you back to the Real Intercontinental in San Jose for your last night in Costa Rica.

Day 7
Enjoy your last bites of gallo pinto this morning before your transfer arrives to take you back to the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) for your flight back home.
