If bounding along dusty back roads and roaming intense jungle landscapes sounds like your idea of a good time, then book an excursion on one of Costa Rica’s many varieties of ATV (all terrain vehicle) tours. Known locally as cuadricyclos, or quadricycles, these rugged 4x4s can truly tackle even the bumpiest and most pock holed topograpy as they barrel through rolling countryside and mountainous terrain at breakneck speeds.
Most Costa Rican ATV tours are either half or full-day affairs lasting anywhere from four to eight hours, typically including snacks, water and sometimes lunch. These fun filled tours are are great addition to any adventure vaction in Costa Rica. During the dry months of December to May, the experience may well bring you right back to your childhood as you get deliciously dusty and dirty; the rest of the year you’ll enjoy splashing through nostalgic mud puddles and getting soaked by an afternoon rain shower.
