Day One
Fly into the San Jose International Airport (arranged on your own) You will be welcomed by a representative from the national chamber of tourism and taken through baggage claim and out of the airport to connect with your sustainable Nature Vacations Transfer. Enjoy the scenery and rest assured that our vehicles run only on local bio-diesel fuel and are carbon-neutral certified.

Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn is situated above the beautiful Central Valley of Costa Rica. Surrounded by towering “Higuerón” trees and exotic flora, the Inn offers spectacular views of volcanoes, cloud forests and coffee plantations. Here at 4000 feet above sea level on a temperate plateau of extraordinary beauty, is grown some of the world’s best coffee in the lush volcanic soil. Nestled in 10 acres amid hundreds of fruit trees and dramatic tropical flora is the enchanted Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn, a jewel crowning a picturesque knoll. To maintain perfect tranquility at Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn will only allow foot traffic and electric cars on premises. All cars will be parked across the street in a large guarded parking lot next door to our greenhouses and the small farm where we raise our own produce as well as our sustainable organic coffee plantation. Guests will be encouraged to participate in the picking, processing and roasting of Finca Rosa Blanca coffee. All of our luxurious rooms include Jacuzzi baths and mini bars as well as private verandas overlooking the lovely Central Valley and the volcanoes above.
Settle in, relax and take in the picturesque views of this fairytale-like boutique hotel. A fresh, creative and delicious organic four course meal awaits you. In the meantime, explore the beautiful garden grounds, reading library or infinity edged swimming pool.

Day Two
Check out of your room and re-connect with your private, carbon neutral bio-diesel transfer to Tobias Bolanos Airport. Check in for your carbon-neutral flight with NatureAir and then enjoy 55 minutes of awe-inspiring views before arriving to Puerto Jimenez where you will enter into the pristine southern jungle of Costa Rica. After one last ground transfer, you will reach the Lapa Rios grounds and know that you are in a very unique and special spot!

Set in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of Central America's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest in Costa Rica, Lapa Rios Ecolodge overlooks the pristine point where the Golfo Dulce meets the wild Pacific Ocean, making it the destination that matches every one's idea of paradise. Sixteen spacious suiita-thatch bungalows nestled within the rain forest exude harmony and an immense tranquility in this undisturbed environment. Soft nets cascade over two bamboo queen size beds casting a magical romantic mood, and classic bamboo furnishings are elegantly arranged. Rest on your private wooden deck, only getting up to pamper your skin with refreshing water from your own secluded garden shower. Lapa Rios is an ideal vacation experience for people that like nature and are open to learning about conservation, culture and biodiversity.
Your four nights and five days at Lapa Rios come included with three exquisite meals each day, coffee delivered to your room each morning and three customized, sustainable jungle tours.

Day Three
Wake up and then take this first opportunity to walk amongst the jungle and contribute to sustainable development in the Lapa Rios reforestation program by transplanting a primary rain forest seedling to an area of second growth. Participants will learn about “their tree”, its role in the ecosystem and receive a certificate to commemorate their efforts. Gift certificates can be purchased on behalf of others and the trees planted in their honor. Plan 10-20 minutes, planting is at 7AM or 4:30PM when the soil is cool.
Also, at some point during your stay, make a point to take part in the Lodge’s sustainability tour.
Led by our coordinator, this highly recommended tour will take you around the lodges’ premises and allow you to see and understand all the daily practices and efforts Lapa Rios does regarding sustainability. From biodegradable building materials to the bio-gas produced by the pigs on the property.

Day Four
Environmental Self Guided Trail
Beginning at the main lodge and looping through the prime forest into the secondary forest and lower bungalows, this trail features 18 marked points of interest that correspond with a biologist's guide book available at the reception. Easily learn about the flora of the forest in a short medium walk.

Day Five
Local Medicine Tour
This walk follows an old track through primary forest. It’s an opportunity to view the cool, primary forest along with fascinating "local" explanations of medicinal uses of barks, leaves, saps. Our guide will teach you about the traditional Indian medicines from the rain forest. A CD with some of the medicinal plants of the Osa is included and so important information of the 8 indigenous tribes found in Costa Rica.

Day Six
Wake up to a 6am coffee delivery to your room as you watch the macaws swoop through the trees above the sea. Take in every last drop before having to check out of your room to connect with your carbon neutral flight back to the cooler climate of the San Jose mountains. Take a short private transfer to Finca Rosa Blanca and indulge in another delicious organic meal. Make sure to ask about the free sustainability tour the hotel offers to learn about various sustainable techniques on site.

The new full-service El Tigre Vestido Restaurant and Bar Buho are located in the owners’ former home. Expansive decks and views of the Central Valley and surrounding coffee farms as well as two fireplaces and comfortable couches for relaxing will add to the experience. Each sunny morning you will wake to an exquisite breakfast, replete with freshly brewed organic coffee grown in our plantation and succulent mango, papaya, pineapple and bananas from the Inn’s own organic orchards. The Inn is renowned for its fine cuisine, prepared with care and creativity from the bounty of its fruit orchards and organic vegetable and herb garden. Our Chefs welcome the curious gourmand into their kitchen to share the secrets and techniques of nouvelle Costa Rican Cuisine. Teri Jampol draws on Costa Rican and international culinary arts, using local fresh seafood and organic meats and poultry to create a menu that changes daily. The elegant dinners and are set around the inviting fireplace with inspiring views of the Central Valley below.

Day Seven
Wake up to breakfast, Costa Rica coffee and perhaps one last walk through the tropical greenery before a short transfer in our carbon-neutral Nature Van to the San Jose International Airport. Relax and reflect while waiting for your flight knowing that your entire vacation in Costa Rica left no carbon footprints!
