Traveling to Costa Rica's Central Pacific Region

Things to See & Do
From Puntarenas in the north, to Manuel Antonio in the south, there are so many things to do here on vacation. Sporting activities and Costa Rica festivals make for an active social scene, but wildlife tours and more intimate venues offer a nice change of scenery at a slower pace. The Annual Puntarenas Carnival is held during the first two weeks of February, and if you plan to visit Costa Rica in July, don't miss the Virgin of the Sea Celebration. The region also plays host for a number of world-class surfing competitions, volleyball tournaments, triathlons, sport fishing tournaments, boating events and even an international film festival.
If your idea of a Costa Rica vacation is lying on the beach and taking it easy at the resort pool, this may be the place for you. Jaco, Manuel Antonio and the Costa Rica's Central Pacific coastline are full of beaches, luxury spa resorts, eco-resorts and quaint, boutique hotels.
The moutainous coastline also offers plenty of spots to perch and take in the nightly spectacle of the sun setting over the Pacific or the Gulf of Nicoya. Costa Rica enjoys year-round temperate weather, but if you prefer a dry heat, then you'll enjoy the relatively arid feel of the Central Pacific, compared to the more humid Caribbean or Osa Peninsula.
